Apesar do frio que faz aqui em Washington DC, onde estou vivendo, esse último fim de semana foi de muitas emoções e um pouco de calor. Estive na Flórida e foram 6 dias de muito movimento e adrenalina. Tínhamos show marcado em Gainesville (Flórida) no dia 18 com Maca e Cissa Paz e em Miami no dia 19, com minha amiga Izabella Rocha (Ex Natiruts) e a banda PRATO sediada em Miami. Gainesville é a cidade sede do meu primeiro intercâmbio cultural nos EUA em 2014, onde gravei o vídeo da canção "Misty Morning" de Bob Marley e em 2015, algumas faixas do meu disco "United americas of Sound". Tenho um carinho especial por essa cidade e por seus músicos, que sempre me recebem com muito carinho e atenção.
Resolvi fazer a viagem sozinho na minha Van (Van aqui nos EUA é um carro utilitário como a caravan brasileira, só que maior). A viagem daqui pra Gainesville é de aproximadamente 750 milhas (cerca de 1300 Km). Saí na Quarta feira às 14:30 de casa e preparei a van com uma cama no fundo para poder dormir e descansar como nas verdadeiras "Road trips". Após 9 horas de viagem, cheguei na Carolina do Sul, onde estacionei a van num posto de gasolina e dormi na própria cama da Van. Não contava com o frio de zero graus, mas com o casaco e o sleeping bag, tudo foi resolvido. Acordei às 7:30 da manhã, tomei um café da manhã no posto e segui viagem, quando às 13h mais ou menos, uma luz estranha se acendeu no painel da Van e eu fiz menção de estacionar no acostamento, pra meu azar um policial estava próximo, viu meu movimento e me parou, pra minha sorte, depois que expliquei a luz no painel, o guarda olhou minha habilitação americana vencida e apenas me orientou a procurar a próxima oficina. O carro então diminuiu a potência e parou de vez num posto no meio do nada, pra minha sorte, depois de caminhar um pouco achei um mecânico que se prontificou a ir até o posto e consertou a correia do alternador que havia partido.
Chegando em Gainesville na casa de Victor, parceiro da cidade, ensaiei com os músicos e tive a notícia de que os ingressos estavam vendendo bem. No dia seguinte, chegou Cissa Paz que também participou do evento. A casa do show em Gainesville chama-se Heartwood Soundstage e é uma beleza. O show acabou sendo "sold out" vendendo todos os 300 ingressos pra minha surpresa e a performance foi filmada e será em breve disponibilizada. Todos os parceiros da cidade compareceram em peso e mais um montão de gente. Foi uma linda noite de celebração à cultura brasileira. Na tarde seguinte, viajamos pra Miami, onde eu participei do show da minha amiga Izabella no Sábado a noite. Foi uma linda apresentação onde cantamos juntos minha Sorriso de Flor. Passamos um Domingo super agradável, onde almoçamos todos juntos e ainda o Maurício Baia que apareceu com sua esposa e filhos. Na manhã de segunda, iniciamos a viagem de volta eu e Cissa e paramos numa linda praia da Flórida chamada Deerfield beach! Uma maravilha de praia. Em Abril, estamos planejando outra viagem dessa pra Flórida! Um abraço a todos! Fiquem com minha participação no show de Bella no Sábado em Miami!

Despite the cold here in DC, where I'm living, this last weekend was full of emotions and a little warmth. I've been in Florida and there were 6 days of much movement and adrenaline. We had a show scheduled in Gainesville (Florida) on the 18th with Maca and Cissa Paz and Miami on the 19th, with my friend Izabella Rocha (Ex Natiruts) and the band PRATO based in Miami. Gainesville is home to my first cultural exchange in the US in 2014, where I recorded the video for the song "Misty Morning" by Bob Marley and in 2015 some tracks for my album "United americas of Sound". I have a special affection for this city and for its musicians, who always receive me with much affection and attention.
I decided to make the trip alone in my Van (Van here in the USA is a utility car like the Brazilian caravan, only bigger). The trip from here to Gainesville is approximately 750 miles (about 1300 km). I left on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m and prepared the van with a bed in the background so that I could sleep and rest like the real "Road trips". After 9 hours of traveling, I arrived in South Carolina, where I parked my van at a gas station and slept in Van's own bed. I forgot about the zero-degree Celsius cold, but with the jacket and the sleeping bag, everything was settled. I woke up at 7:30 in the morning, had breakfast at the station and went on, when at 1:00 p.m. or so, a strange light came on the van's panel and I made a movement of parking on the side of the road, to my bad luck a policeman was next, saw my movement and stopped me, to my luck, after I explained the light on the panel, the guard looked at my American license and only directed me to look for the next Mechanic shop. The car then slowed down and stopped at a station in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, after walking a little, I found a mechanic who went to the station and repaired the belt of the alternator that had left.
Arriving in Gainesville at the home of Victor, partner of the town, I rehearsed with the musicians and learned that the tickets were selling well. The next day Cissa Paz arrived and also attended the event. The home of the show in Gainesville is called Heartwood Soundstage and it's a beauty. The show ended up being sold out selling all the 300 tickets to my surprise and the performance was filmed and will be available soon. All the partners in the city showed up and a lot of people. It was a beautiful night of celebration of Brazilian culture. The following afternoon, we traveled to Miami, where I participated in the show of my friend Izabella on Saturday night. It was a beautiful presentation where we sang together my song Sorriso de flor. We spent a super nice Sunday, where we had lunch together and also Mauricio Baia who appeared with his wife and children. On Monday morning, we headed back and stopped at a beautiful Florida beach called Deerfield beach! In April, we are planning another trip to Florida! A hug to everyone!
