Ontem realizei mais uma importante missão cultural, gravei a participação da banda de Samba Reggae Batalá D.C na minha mais nova composição "Jah Innocence". O Batalá D.C é um dos inúmeros Batalás espalhados pelo mundo, uma criação do baiano Giba Gonçalves, que teve a brilhante idéia de criar esse projeto de "franchising", ou seja, espalhando o nome Batalá pelo mundo através da criação de bandas de Samba Reggae formada por mulheres em várias cidades da Europa e dos EUA.
Em 2017, tive o primeiro contato com o Batalá D.C, quando assisti uma apresentação delas numa festa de rua na cidade de Washington D.C. Fiquei encantado com a qualidade sonora, teatral ( roupas belíssimas) e musical ( tocam as batidas de Samba Reggae originais criadas em Salvador,Bahia).
Em 2018, na mesma festa tive o prazer de assistir mais uma vez ao vivo a apresentação delas e nesse dia pude me aproximar e conversar melhor com algumas mulheres do grupo. Quando alguns meses depois eu compus uma canção de Reggae chamada "Jah Innocence" e o baterista Jamaicano Nevin Thomas não pode comparecer a sessão de estúdio para gravar, me ocorreu a brilhante idéia de convidá-las. Foi um daqueles lampejos e também creio muito que tudo ocorre por um motivo, o não comparecimento do baterista e a idéia de convidá-las logo após o fato, não foi nada por acaso, foi como se tudo estivesse escrito para acontecer dessa forma. Pois bem ontem gravamos a participação delas na canção no maravilhoso estúdio da American University em D.C (Estúdio top projetado pelo mesmo engenheiro de som do famoso Eletric ladyland de Jimi Hendrix. A gravação contou com a engenharia sonora do Brasileiro mestre em áudio Rogério Naressi e contou também com a participação de Cissa Paz, que captou em vídeo a gravação. Agora estou trabalhando na mixagem, arranjo e vídeo clip. Em breve você terá a oportunidade de conhecer essa banda de mulheres dos mais variados backgrounds, tem colombiana, mulata, negra, loira, todas unidas pelo ideal de tocar Samba Reggae!!! Viva esse estilo musical que encanta o mundo!!!

Yesterday I realized another important cultural mission, I recorded the participation of Samba Reggae Batalá D.C in my newest composition "Jah Innocence". Batalá DC is one of the numerous Batalás around the world, a creation of the Bahian Giba Gonçalves, who had the brilliant idea to create this project of franchising, that is, spreading the name Batalá through the world through the creation of Samba Reggae bands formed by women in several cities in Europe and the United States.
In 2017, I had the first contact with Batalá DC, when I attended a presentation of them at a street party in Washington DC. I was delighted with the sound quality, theatrical (beautiful clothes) and musical aspects (they play the original Samba Reggae beats created in Salvador, Bahia). In 2018, at the same party, I had the pleasure of attending once more the presentation of them and that day I could approach and talk better with some women of the group.
When a few months later I composed a Reggae song called "Jah Innocence" and Jamaican drummer Nevin Thomas can not attend the studio session to record, I had the brilliant idea of inviting them. It was one of those flashes and I also believe that everything happens for a reason, the non-attendance of the drummer and the idea of inviting them soon after the fact, it was not by chance, it was as if everything was written to happen that way. Yesterday we recorded their participation in the song in the wonderful studio of American University in DC (Studio top designed by the same engineer of the famous Eletric ladyland of Jimi Hendrix.) The recording counted on with the sound engineering, Brazilian master in audio, Rogério Naressi and counted also with the participation of Cissa Paz, who captured in video the recording.Now I am working on the mix, arrangement and video clip.You will soon have the opportunity to meet this band of women from the most varied backgrounds, they are Colombian, Black, Blonde, all united by the ideal of playing Samba Reggae! This musical style that enchants the world !!!
